Should you wish we will be able to assist you with the compilation and insertion of death announcements and acknowledgments in your local and / or national newspapers.

Some newspapers may dictate the length, format and style of the announcement. We can advise you appropriately along with an indication of the cost of the announcement.

The common inclusions of a newspaper announcement are outlined below:

• Surname (this usually appears first)
• First name (sometimes also including a nickname)
• When (for example on 14th November 2018, the day of the week usually being omitted)
• How (such as peacefully, after a long illness, suddenly, etc.)
• Where (at home, in hospital, in a nursing home, etc.)
• Age (only if desired)
• Husband / Wife of (or Beloved / Much loved / Loving Husband / Wife of name)
• Address (for security reasons we suggest that you just state the town or village)
• Other relationships (Father / Mother, Grandad / Grandmother, brother, sister, etc., of name)
• Date and time of funeral
• Whether funeral flowers are welcome (family flowers only or no flowers by request)
• Details if donations are being accepted (enquiries to name, or direct to chosen charity)
